-We delivered solid experience on all platforms we shipped Destiny onWith Destiny 2 being on modern hardware were able to create bigger environmentsmore elaborate activities for more players to enjoy, and put more enemy combatants on screen.+The Strike is good place to startIt reveals a little more of the world players can expect, showcasing great improvements to Destiny. The most notable thing about the Strike is just how open it felt. Instead of running casually down one big hallway that twist and turns, the Strike makes use of all the space available. The number of paths available was astounding and never has it been so easy to get separated from the group, meaning communication (or keeping an eye out) is key. Party members cant just run ahead to go off and do their own thing; the Strike actually requires some teamwork and that’s a good thing. More than a few timesimminent danger is awaiting any careless Guardian who might think "I’ve got this." The mechanics of it all also helped with this feeling, giving the Strike enough complexity, but not so much that it felt bogged down. It’s hard to get an exact readthough, because this is only one Strike and without leveling of any sort, it might just seem tough. This is how every Destiny expansion has played out. Things feel like they were getting more challenging, but level up enough gear and light, and those Strikes become cake-walks. I even encountered some of this already, by just breezing past the giant drill without stopping. What looked like a challenging set piece became just a set piece. No interaction required.

-One of the biggest questions around Destiny 2 is if Activision and Bungie are doing enough to fix what is an extremely wonky machine, and if so, can it be saved? Destiny 2 does have a dedicated fan base, but even that has hit a low point compared to when Destiny found itself going through these same woes, just with less grief, which makes sense. Destiny isn't perfect and it came a long way from when it launched, but many of the problems in Destiny 2 didn't exist for DestinyIn many ways Destiny 2 felt like it had taken about a thousand  [[https://www.Destiny2focus.com/articles/unlock-god-mode-destiny-2-s-edge-of-fate-exotics-are-game-changers.html|moirai hunter chest armor]] steps back. Now Destiny 2 finds itself not only on the same trajectory as the originalbut also with more patches and leaks to fix. The boat was sinking as soon as it hit water, it just took a little time at sea to see just how bad things were.+Weapon rarity remains identical to Destiny. Basic (white)uncommon (green) and rare (blue) will be your most common drops while playing the campaignOnce you reach level 20legendary (purple) and highly coveted exotic (yellow) weapons will begin dropping.

-Destiny starts off as youre resurrected by a Ghost in the desolate ruins of Old RussiaThings aren’t looking great as there are Fallen roaming around and you need to make it to civilization. Finding a ship, you make your way the Last City where you meet whole network of faces, including Ikora, Zavala, Cayde-6, and The Speaker, who now represents the TravelerThey instruct you to go back to Earth and search the Cosmodrone in which you find the Hive holding out underground in the abandoned subway system. Seeing as these beings usually reside on the Moonyou’re tasked to travel outside of the atmosphere and investigate.+While including a loot box that doesnt award duplicates is better than only having completely random loot boxes, doing so doesn’t take away from the fact that Bungie’s game is still highly encouraging its players to engage with loot boxes instead of actually earning lootIt also doesn’t take away from the fact that they’re still pushing random microtransactions in a game with sixty dollars price tag and paid DLCWhat’s morethey don't appear to see anything wrong with this.

-There were some 3v3 modes like Trials of Osiris. With Destiny 2, we’ve met somewhere in the middle. Every game mode is 4v4 now instead of 3v3 or 6v6. We’ve created a scenario where every single player in the Crucible plays an important role on their team. We’ve placed an emphasis on strategyteamwork, and communication. You’re going to think lot about how you back each other up, how you play together. +Assassin’s Creed II, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Mass Effect 2 are some of the greatest sequels of all time, but why? Each of these games had a flawed predecessor that showed great promise, which the developers were able to take and refine into strengths. With Destiny 2, Bungie is looking to achieve something similar. After three years of growing pains throughout the Destiny 1 erathe developer is finally ready to look to the future with numbered sequelWith an actual campaignnew worlds to explore and an update to the game’s progression systems, is Destiny 2 the sequel fans deserve or is the number at the end warrantless?
-Not yetbut I promise that I will talk to you all about when it will happen as soon as we nail that down. It will happen this summer, obviously, and then on September 8 Destiny 2 will be available on PS4 and Xbox One. We’ll solidify and announce the PC ship date when we have it ready.+

-Bungie did turn corner with the laying out of the plan moving forward for Destiny 2which was a nice gesturebut showing us the content road ahead isn’what earns trust back ; it’s the work put into Destiny 2Guardians have been putting in the work of playing the game. Many couldn’t keep up with the grindbut those that stayed see that brighter tomorrow that every NPC is always gabbing about to whichever Guardian will listen. +While there no new classes, each of the three returning classes get new subclass. Hunters get Arcstrider, Titans get Sentinel and Warlocks get Dawnblade. Each of the new subclasses is a joy to use and players can unlock their other Destiny 1 subclasses (GunslingerStriker and Voidwalker) and The Taken King subclasses (NightstalkerSunbreaker and Stormcaller) if the new ones aren'their cup of teaEach returning class has been tweaked to make them more viable in Destiny 2, and both new and old are fun to play.
-We want to continue experimenting and evolving Eververse to improve player experience, and give more paths to earn Eververse rewards. Please give us your feedback once Season 3 begins, as we’re dedicated to improving these systems moving forward."+

-Just about everything you love about Destiny is returning. We’ve got a campaign with a series of story missions that tell a grand tale of courage and heroismWe have strikes. Of course, we’ve got a brand-new Raid, which I can say nothing about because it’s the pinnacle activityWe have different ways to explore the world. We’ve all been on Patrols, but now there are Lost Sectors to discover, public events with heroic activities, adventures given to us by MPCSFinally, of coursetherethe Crucible for when we want to step away from the fight against the enemies.+Each species now has new enemy types that do change the flow of combatThe Fallen’s Wretch lunges at you with their long spear. The Cabal are the key beneficiaries here with multiple new enemy typesThe Incendior uses a giant flamethrower to ignite the floor around players and War Beasts gallop in on four legs to tear out Guardians throatsThe Hive and the Vexwhile getting some new variants of existing typeshavent gotten the same amount of attention as the Cabal or Fallen.

-What makes Public Events so exciting is thatif the right triggers are activatedplayers will kick-off a Heroic Public EventThis changes the objective from something simple like capturing location or killing off all enemies, into something more challenging.+Which brings this full circle back to the Strike. With only one Strike to tackle, any Guardian checking out the beta will probably play this a few times. It was with my second group that more problems started to crop up. The beta is a stress test on Destiny 2’s system, so having such sparse…everything...became more noticeable. There is a limited arsenal in Destiny 2 at the momentand when the party hit the boss, we started to wipe. After the third wipe I began switching out weapons in every combination imaginable, but we just couldn’t land it. Having played Destiny since vanilla, I’d say the skills are there. But here is Destiny 2 presenting itself as challenging [[https://www.destiny2focus.com/articles/the-void-hunter-s-melee-void-my-destiny-2-journey-in-2025.html|Void Hunter Melee Rework]] but there is always that inkling that it’s façade. Again, every Destiny expansion has done this. New encounters, new mechanics, new gear. It makes it all seem like the game has changedbut level up enough, equip the right stuff and that boss that was causing so much grief becomes laughable. One can only hope that this beta is not tricking players into a false experience, but that won’t be revealed until September. So, for now it’s the waiting game.

-For example, in the EDZ, one Adventure features the Taken taking up residence deep in the forest. At first, the mission is simply about pushing forward and clearing away all hostiles. Following some speculation by Ghost about why the Taken are hereplayers face off against Taken Cabal boss who remains shielded as long as grunts are running about. Take care of themand the boss becomes vulnerable until more grunts spawn. +Bungie did turn a corner with the laying out of the plan moving forward for Destiny 2which was nice gesturebut showing us the content road ahead isn’t what earns trust back ; it’s the work put into Destiny 2. Guardians have been putting in the work of playing the game. Many couldn’t keep up with the grindbut those that stayed see that brighter tomorrow that every NPC is always gabbing about to whichever Guardian will listen.

-It's been less than a year since Destiny 2’s launch, with highs and lows, but mostly lows. Players may have fallen off Destiny 2 faster than a Sparrow racing its way through…oh wait (I miss Sparrow Racing)It's this exact feeling, however, that Bungie is battering its player base with. For those who have come from Destiny and stuck around -- through gritted teeth -- and those who are newcomers to the IP, it'been like climbing a vertical mountain that's starting to invert itself on the way up. Slowly, Bungie has course corrected and it's filling in much of the gaps that should have been filled in to begin with. When an entire weapon selection is useless for much of the first yearsomething might be wrong, especially because it leads to one of the worst grievances of all -- not having fun.+
