| So perhaps that's the reason, as Grand Theft Auto V , secretly but steadily, hurdles towards its release, the company has gone into retrospect mode, announcing the first installment in a series of Rockstar Games compilati | The DLC timeline of GTA IV also suggests that GTA V could be in line for some story DLC of its own soon. GTA IV 's The Ballad of Gay Tony and Lost and Damned DLC packs were released less than a year and a half after the release of the core game - so if Rockstar is employing a similar release strategy, we'd better get our wallets re |

| The big movie news cannot be ignored: Sony decided it will not go forward with it's plans to release The Interview, a Seth Rogen film about a plot to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un. Sony was hacked and received threats, while the number of respectable movie chains who would take the film was dwindling. All at once, the internet (save for a few rogue supporters) cried out about free speech, bowing to terrorist demands and all-around support for Rogen and his now-canceled film. The equally troubling news is that no one cares when this happens to a video game. | |
| | Surprisingly, the date only lasted long enough to grab headlines, as its original listing on the Gamestop UK storefront has now been supplanted with a TBC (To Be Confirmed). March 1 is a safe bet, though, considering the game's unbreaking silence heading into this Fall. Sure, low-key seems to be Rockstar's traditional modus operandi ; but a smattering of GTA V screenshots this August following an announcement trailer last November doesn't quite fit the billing for "Holiday 20 |
| It baffles me as to why Rockstar would even consider a first-person mode for GTA V. Perhaps it was the success of open-world shooters like Far Cry 3 that inspired them to do this, which is understandable. However, Far Cry 3 is a shooter. It’s built as a shooter and the shooting is a huge part of the game’s appeal. Sure, there’s exploration, but the action is Far Cry’s appeal by far. Grand Theft Auto V, for all its gritty action and violence, is not a shooter. Its action comes from something less primal and more intelligent. If anything, this first-person shooter setup does more to pander to the FPS crowd than to thoughtfully expand on what Grand Theft Auto has always been about. | |

| It goes without saying that adding that adding retired WWF (WWE) legend Macho Man Randy Savage to a game shouldn't make it terrifying. The Slim Jim snappin' wrestler was a popular figure with fans worldwide, and his colorful personality made him fun to watch on television. However, nothing could prepare us for what would happen if somebody replaced the dragons of Skyrim with Randy Savage. The way the theme music just subtly creeps in, the way the Randy Dragon's neck just seems to bend, everything combines for a traumatic experience that would fill the pants of the most stoic amongst us. We would rather fight a hundred normal Skyrim dragons than face off against one single Randy Savage dra | Following its dominance for overall game sales in 2015, Call of Duty: Black Ops III once again took the crown for the top game sales of January 2016 with Xbox One as its top selling platform, while several regulars like Grand Theft Auto V , Minecraft , and the EA Sports franchises all took a place on the cha |

| Eduard Khil's 1976 rendition of an old song saw a viral resurgence in 2010, where it become known as the 'Trololol' meme for its ridiculous sound and video without context. Though the singer may no longer be with us, that one song is still played as an internet joke to this day. One game modder decided to replace one of the enemy NPC sounds in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. with the jovial music, which sounds like a simple change on the surface. However, anyone who watches the video from start to finish can tell you that when the players hear the monster's music coming, unsure of its direction and amidst the darkness, pants are sure to be filled. As the music gets louder and louder, we don't blame the YouTuber for running the opposite direction - the last thing someone ever hears shouldn't be the Trololol s | The NPD Group released their full statistics and chart for January 2016, with the top 10-selling physical releases for January 2016 listed below (platform listings for each title are ordered by top-selling platfo |

| Aside from BioShock Infinite , we know Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive is looking for major revenue booster in 2013, and with Game Informer teasing Grand Theft Auto V as their December cover just hours ago, it might not be long before a return to Los Santos finds its way onto corporate and consumer calendars al | Following a busy holiday season filled with new releases, January is typically seen as a bit of a "slower" time of the year for new game releases, with the last month's results from game sales tracker The NPD Group posting their list of the top selling titles for January 2016, which is largely dominated by many familiar fa |

| The content of these games shouldn't matter. The greater principle at stake here is the idea that people should be free to express their ideas, a value clearly held dearly by movie-goers but not so much by the gaming community. Society has spoken about movies: we want any film, regardless of how controversial the subject matter, to be available to the public in an exercise of our right to free speech and ideal of free expression. The question remains when, if ever, will society feel the same way about video games? | Grand Theft Auto V set the world ablaze when it appeared, roaring onto the scene with the biggest open-world ever seen in the series. Rockstar soared back to the forefront of gaming, shouting from atop the skyscrapers and taking off into the stratosphere. In this current gaming climate of endless re-releases and remasters, it was only a matter of time that Rockstar would cave. Grand Theft Auto V was confirmed for release on Playstation 4 and Xbox One, with 1080p/30fps graphics and numerous tweaks to gameplay. But one new feature stood out: a first-person mode . For a series that’s always been a third-person endeavor, the FPS-style setup caught many gamers’ eyes, some even claiming it to make this GTA V "the definitive version." GTA V on PS4 and Xbox One is likely to be the definitive version of the game, but this first-person mode is a disposable and pointless inclusion, a shameless stand-in for true expansion on the already enormous open-world game. |

| Offering four games in one box on what has to several discs, Rockstar Games Collection: Edition 1 has been announced for the cost of $59.99 - the orthodox price point for one game. Bundled into the package is L.A. Noire (2010); Red Dead Redemption (2009); Midnight Club: Los Angeles - Complete Edition (the tricked-out version of 2008's MC:LA ); and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City ( GTA IV's DLC compilation of The Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Ton | According to Rockstar Games (the publisher and developer of the Grand Theft Auto franchise), the size of Grand Theft Auto V 's map is bigger than Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas , Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption 's maps combined. But the picturesque Los Santos setting isn't all palm trees, mountains and the occasional flurry of snow ; GTA V is filled with a wealth of things to |

| Hatred saw the effects of this much [[https://gta5play.com/xbox-2025-a-gamer-s-wild-ride-of-epic-releases.html|more info here]] than GTA V. Being pulled from Steam Greenlight can be a death sentence to indie game developers, as Steam is essentially the only game in town for newcomers. Fortunately for them, Gabe Newell decided that this wasn't a good decision . Without extrapolating his reasoning, it's nice to see someone in the gaming industry care about whether a developer has an honest shot and releasing their creation, regardless of how tasteless the content may be. | The first-person mode includes a new cover system, a traditional FPS control scheme, along with auxiliary features like new animations. It aims (no pun intended) to deliver a new perspective on Grand Theft Auto, a series that until now has focused entirely on a third-person perspective. The trailer illustrates many highlights of Grand Theft Auto V like taking out street assailants, jumping a train on an off-road vehicle, and even shaking an enemy off the wing of a plane. The new perspective makes moments like piloting a jet fighter different, with aiming displays and cockpit views all in tow. It definitely adds another take on Grand Theft Auto V. |

| | But saying that this dimension is "a game-changer" is overzealous. The first-person perspective in Grand Theft Auto V constantly evokes an aura of novelty. It doesn’t fit in. Grand Theft Auto V, and the Grand Theft Auto series in general, was never built for first-person. Many of the actions benefit from a more peripheral viewpoint, as you can attackers easier and see a nearby getaway vehicle without fiddling around with the camera too much. Firefights are not the focus of GTA, nor are the driving segments. Grand Theft Auto’s appeal has always been the open-world. Moving around a city, launching off a ramp, shooting enemies, and making a clean getaway are not that valuable on their own, but the cohesion between these elements is what make [[https://Gta5Play.com/|GTA 5 Patch Notes]] into what it is. The first-person perspective disjoints that synergy; it frames the firefights and vehicles as the most core elements, when they’ve only been pieces of a bigger puzzle. |
| If you do pick up GTAV for one of the newer platforms, but are not a returning player, there's no need to feel left out. Rockstar noted that new content is coming for both new and old players, including classic GTA cars. The rest of the surprises, however, will have to wait until the Xbox One and PS4 versions launch a few weeks from now. It's not yet clear if PC players will get even more extra toys to try out as well, since they have an extra two months to wait compared to console play | |
