-Humanity isn’t the only thing occupying the wide-open galaxy; there are the other two races as wellThe Exos are powered by the light and that seems to be living source. Besides humanity fighting its war there are the Awoken and Exoboth related to humanity while not being human. Equally as important to the scope of it all. Without getting into the nitty-gritty of these two races, just know that Bungie does plan on telling their stories eventually. The other major tie in for these two races is all the other high sci-fantasy space stuff going on. Without getting into space dragons (because they exist), there are also things in this universe the Destiny community has yet to encounter, unless counting Xur. Which brings this to the Nine. The Nine have been known part of Destiny since the game's releasebut the only contact anyone has had with them is strictly through Xur, an agent of the Nine. With Destiny 2 taking us to Titan, players just might get closer than ever before to this elusive group of who knows what (hint space dragons). Doing some digging, it's known the Nine occupy either Europa, a moon of Jupiteror Titan, one of the new locals in Destiny 2, a moon of Saturn.+Of all the things players can do in the open area, Adventures are the most story-drivenPresented on the map as an orange banner with white sword, these activities task Guardians with following series of objectives. StructurallyAdventures most resemble the mission design of missions from the original; get an objectivego clear out wave of enemieslisten to Ghost speculate a bitand battle boss.

-For example, in the EDZ, one Adventure features the Taken taking up residence deep in the forest. At first, the mission is simply about pushing forward and clearing away all hostiles. Following some speculation by Ghost about why the Taken are here, players face off against a Taken Cabal boss who remains shielded as long as grunts are running about. Take care of themand the boss becomes vulnerable until more grunts spawn. +Speaking of enemiesDestiny 2 doesn’t add anything new to the mixEach of the factions from the original game returns with a few new unitsbut they don’t change the fact that these are the same enemies weve been shooting for the past three yearsConsidering we’re exploring new, exotic worlds, it would have been nice to get some new enemy species thrown in.
-Fallout 4 and Dead Space 3 were both the standout best sellers of their respective series. More gamers are familiar with these series thanks to their widespread success. On it’s own, this success is a good thing. In the case of Fallout at least, it means that the series has a future. Just like with Destiny 2, however, that success came with a price. In the case of Fallout 4 greater success and mainstream appeal came at the cost of its RPG depth. Instead of defining what kind of character they want to play at the outset of the game, players can instead develop them as they play. The Sole Survivors identity is fluidThey can be anything and everything given enough time. They’re basically competent in everything from the outset of the game and developing them is mostly just a matter of increasing their damage with/resistance to different types of weapons.+

-What does relationship mean for lore though? Of course, the actual relationship aspect of Destiny is there, but it’s always been thereDestiny 2 is not only creating worldsthough, it’s actually telling stories within those worldsThe people that inhabit these spaces are important and Bungie seems to be doing everything to make the player care about themFrom the looks of interaction with those around you while traversing the many environments Destiny 2 has to offer, the aspect of relationship is everywhereZavala giving command to the player and other NPCs around himIt creates sense of urgency immediately invoking a compassion that only comes from feeling connected to othersThen there is the EDZ a new area for players to call home. The people they were protecting have started forming communities hereActively participating in these places will create a more grounded sense of communityIt’s the reason WoW cities felt so lived inthe people that inhabit these spaces are going about their daily lives. It isnt aboutgo out, kill aliensreturnIt feels like being the Pavlovian dog waiting for the treatNone of that seems to be in Destiny 2.+The story campaign has more missions and cinematics than you’ve ever seen in a Destiny game. The player experience has more variety, more types of activities, and more ways for you to enjoy the experience by yourselfor with other players. It is, in terms of the action you’ll enjoy,  [[https://www.destiny2focus.com/articles/destiny-2-s-armor-3-0-revolutionizing-builds-in-edge-of-fate.html|Stat scaling system]] a more diverse experience than any Bungie game ever.

+Casual players are the single largest audience in gaming; there’s no getting around it. This is the audience that every major publisher wants to appeal to; the one group that every development studio hopes will latch onto their game. After allcapturing the attention of the casual or mainstream audience usually means massive success and wondrous profit. So it’s understandable that they, publishers especially, would have a vested interest in making their games more accessible and appealing to that audienceMaking that appeal often means simplification. The simpler the game is, the more accessible it isthe more mainstream appeal it can have. While there’s nothing innately wrong with making one’s game more accessible to the wider gaming audience, doing so always comes at a costJust as a game cannot be both simple and complex, neither can it simultaneously serve its niche and successfully appeal to the mainstream audienceTherefore compromises must be made, usually ones that rob the game of what made it special in the first place.

+Destiny nailed its gameplay mechanics perfectly out of the gate and those carry beautifully into Destiny 2. Aiming and shooting feel fantastic, while platforming has been tightened up with Guardians now able to clamber over ledges. Jumping is still a little floatybut the clambering should help players avoid some unnecessary deaths.
 +
+Destiny came up short in many departments following its 2014 launch, including explorationExploring Earth, Venus, Mars and the Moon was supposed to be exciting, but ended up being chore. The open areas of each planet were flat, plain and lacked exciting activities to participate inThey were pretty but didn't have substance to keep players entertained outside of mindless busywork. This is something Bungie is directly addressing with Destiny 2.
 +
+The most immediate change is the environment. The Tower always seemed like an elusive thing; my Guardian didn’t feel close to those she was supposedly protecting. How is one supposed to feel like hero when there really isn’t anyone worth saving? Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, whether fighting actual battles or just being that person someone looks up to, heroes aren’t made without those to protect. Although, it could be argued Guardians are more warriors…never mind, no need to go down that pathNeedless to say, Guardians are now invested in the people they are protecting; they are going out into the world and fighting back whatever might threaten a community broken. It connects Guardians to something worth fighting for: relationship.

-Placing all the powerful weapons in the same category has good potential for PvP, but it’s also a functional misstep in terms of [[https://Www.Destiny2focus.com/articles/wild-style-the-ultimate-double-fire-grenade-launcher-in-destiny-2-2025-meta.html|PvE Weapon Guide]]. Power weapon ammo drops more often in Destiny 2 than heavy weapon ammo in Destiny 1but still not nearly as often as kinetic or energy weapon ammo. So right away theres less incentive to use that ammo for any weapon other than a rocket or grenade launcherWhy waste that relatively rare and precious ammo on a sniper rifle when it could instead be spent on something much more powerful? It’s the same issue with abilities in that they’re all restricted by ridiculously-slow cooldowns. Instead of enjoying the ability to toss a grenade into a group of minor enemies, dodge around the battlefield at one’s leisure or even pop a super to take on a mid-boss, the game encourages players to bank them insteadTo use ones abilities in any situation other than the most desperate is to see them go to wasteNobody wants to be caught staring at a cool-down meter when theyre stuck in a tight spot. These can at least be adjusted a bit with mods, but who wants to waste their mods on anything other than top-tier armor? The net result is gameplay that’s gone from fast-pacedfluid and funto something slow, limited and dull with no incentive whatsoever to make use of the games most enjoyable weapons and powers. If the developers truly felt that these changes were necessary to achieve more fun and balanced Cruciblethen perhaps it would have been better to just separate the Crucible from the rest of the game.+There were some 3v3 modes like Trials of OsirisWith Destiny 2, weve met somewhere in the middleEvery game mode is 4v4 now instead of 3v3 or 6v6Weve created a scenario where every single player in the Crucible plays an important role on their teamWeve placed an emphasis on strategyteamwork, and communication. Youre going to think lot about how you back each other uphow you play together.
